PROJECTS

We continue to strive to grow with the modern technology and improvements – and shaping a sustainable future for the industry we serve. Making positive difference for nearly 15 years – our sustainability promise is to save resources and reduce the impact of human activity on the environment. Our investments are based on technologies that promises to use less resources and boost efficiency in mineral processing. We are expanding in material and technology areas. Since our journey began in 2001- we have progressed towards our vision – and have made tremendous progress in this journey of sustainability.

Since the beginning of our journey, we have progressed towards our vision and have made tremendous progresses. We continue to strive to grow with the modern technologies, shaping a sustainable future for the industry we serve and staying focused on our goals. In February 2021, Somika commenced the development of a process plant with a capacity to produce 30,000 MT of Copper Cathode. To maximize efficiency, the plant will use ore from the mining operations on-site. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a qualified team of experts, this project is expected to be completed by June 2022.

As a by-product, Somika’s Sulphuric Acid Plant produces 1.8MW of electricity which self sustains its power requirement. Surplus power generated is supplied to the rest of the site for consumption. We aim to double production capacity with the aid of a second SAP plant of 250 TPD capacity that will be operational by 2023.
