Somika commenced production of Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4) in 2018. The colorless chemical compound plays a vital role in mineral processing aiding the conversion of the mined ore into a usable form of copper. Our facility employs cutting edge double conversion and double absorption technology to produce Sulfuric Acid of purity of more than 98.5%. We primarily use this compound in hydro metallurgical processes at all our Copper and Cobalt manufacturing plants across the Democratic Republic of Congo.
